WC women blanked by Berg 2-0

TIFFIN – The Wilmington College women’s soccer team fell to Heidelberg Saturday, 2-0, in Ohio Athletic Conference action.

Heidelberg took advantage of its limited scoring opportunities, scoring twice on just four shots on goal. Meanwhile, Wilmington produced plenty of scoring chances as the Fightin’ Quakers launched 19 shots with 10 being on goal.

The Student Princes took the early lead with a goal in the game’s 10th minute and led 1-0 at the break.

Heidelberg added an insurance goal in the 78th minute as a loose ball in the box found its way to the back of the net.

Freshman Haley Brausch, a Clinton-Massie High School graduate, led the team with four shots, three on goal.

Junior Ana Hosler, a Blanchester High School graduate, made two saves on three shots, while freshman Leda Moyer, also a CMHS grad, allowed a goal on one shot.

Wilmington finished the season 6-7-4 overall, 1-6-2 OAC.
