OWENSVILLE — The Blanchester girls soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, 4-0, Thursday to Clermont Northeastern in a Southern Buckeye Conference National Division match.

The Lady Rockets took control of the game with a goal in the first two minutes, BHS coach Kurt Ballinger said.

The Ladycats settled down and “squandered several chances to pull even,” Ballinger noted.

CNE led 2-0 at halftime then added a pair of goals in the second half. Kayla Nichols had three goals for the Lady Rockets.

Chloe Caplinger had five saves in goal for Blanchester while Regan Ostermeier recording eight saves.

Ballinger said sweeper Emma Gundler and midfielder Aubrey Jordan played well for BHS, now 1-1-1 on the year.
