WILMINGTON — With just four matches on the night, Wilmington defeated Chillicothe 51-24 in South Central Ohio League wrestling Thursday night at Fred Summers Court.

“It’s hard to stay motivated when there is so few matches to begin with,” said Wilmington head coach Kelly Tolliver, “Chillicothe is really down on their numbers this year.”

Wilmington picked up two on-mat wins Thursday.

By the end of the first period, R.J. Tolliver was up 2-1 against Nick Erlsan. With just over 30 seconds to go in the second period, Tolliver got the pin against Erlsan.

Gage Smith and Cole Maxon had a close matchup, 2-2 at the end of the second period. With little time left on the clock, Smith managed to take the lead 4-2 and win the match.

Conner Barton held his own in the first period against Nick Colley, 2-2, but about halfway through the second period, Colley managed to pin Barton.
