BETHEL-TATE — The Blanchester girls soccer team defeated Bethel-Tate 3-0 Thursday in Southern Buckeye Conference National Division action.

The Ladycats are 3-1-1 on the year.

Audrey Jordan scored 45 seconds into the match “by showcasing a rare blend of speed and power,” coach Kurt Ballinger said, to put Blanchester up 1-0.

Jordan ran down a long kick from BHS goalkeeper Regan Ostermeier and muscled past the last defender before sending the shot past the Tigers’ keeper, Ballinger said.

Sierra Drake added two goals later in the first half to complete the scoring and give BHS the win. Bekah Sams assisted on both of Drake’s goals.

Ballinger said defenders Mckenzie Hamm and Emma Gundler snuffed out a couple of Bethel-Tate scoring opportunities and allowed Ostermeier to record the shutout. She made 12 saves in goal.

The coach added Emily Hinkle’s play in the midfield was another key to the victory.
