The Blanchester eighth grade boys basketball team defeated Norwood 36-34 Saturday in the Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference North Division tournament at the Blanchester Middle School gym.

The young Wildcats, 13-3 on the year, will meet Mount Orab 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at the BMS gym in the next round.

Brayden Sipple had 19 points, 11 rebounds and five steals for Blanchester.

Trenton Czaika had eight points and three steals against the Indians. Kyle Hopkins had three points and two assists. Logan Heitzman, Bryce Highlander and Hunter Hartmann had two points each. Heitzman had five steals.
