LEES CREEK — Clinton-Massie was nearly unstoppable Friday night in a 73-57 win over East Clinton in a cross-county South Central Ohio League matchup at the EC gym.

Noah Greathouse led the Falcons with 18 points. Nick Chowning had 17 points and a perfect 3-3 from the free throw line.

Wyatt Floyd led the Astros with 20 points. JT McCarren had 14 and Brendan Jenkins had 6.

Clinton-Massie came out ready to play in the first half and started the game with a 9-2 run. The Astros had trouble making any sort of comeback. With a buzzer beater by the Falcons, Clinton-Massie had a 23-14 lead after one. Greathouse and Trey Uetrecht had seven each for Massie in the opening frame.

The Astros started off strong in the second quarter. At one point, they cut the difference to four. It wasn’t long, however, that the Falcons were able to recover and bring their lead to double digits going into the second half. Greathouse maintained his hot hand in the second with eight points.

The Falcons took control in the second half. Early in the third, Massie pushed the lead to 14 and never looked back. Late in the third, the Astros faced a 22-point deficit. Nick Chowning poured in 12 points in the third as the Falcons soared to another victory.

Things didn’t change in the fourth as the Falcons maintained a steady lead. Some light tension rose at the end of the quarter but the Falcons never faltered as they walked away with a healthy 16-point win.

East Clinton was just 18 for 30 at the free throw line while Clinton-Massie was 10 for 15.
