GEORGETOWN — After 36 years of coaching and officiating, Blanchester freshman boys basketball coach Dan Shell told his team on Thursday that Friday’s game against Georgetown would be his last.

Shell said it was tough turning out the lights after Thursday’s final practice.

On Friday, his Wildcats turned the lights out on Georgetown early, beginning the game with a 19-1 run. The freshmen sent Shell out a winner, 48-28.

Tanner Creager led Blanchester with 21 points. Hunter Bare added 12 points. Jay Ashcraft scored seven points. Braden Roy chipped in four points. Kaleb Goodin and Gabe Napier each had two points.
