ADAMS TOWNSHIP — The Clinton-Massie boys basketball team had no troubles Saturday in their final regular season game against the Bellbrook Golden Eagles, 62-47.

“I thought we just came out and did a very good job,” said Clinton-Massie head coach Todd Cook, “It’s nice to see the seniors come out with a win.”

The CM seniors are Nick Chowning, Griffin Cook, Chris Demler, Noah Greathouse and Bailey Leforge.

After starting the season at 1-8, the Falcons are now 9-12.

Chowning led the Falcons with 20 points.

“I thought Nick Chowning did a good job handling the point position, some of his passes were spectacular today and he did some good scoring,” said coach Cook.

Cook had 13 and both Trey Uetrecht and Delmer had 10 each.

Donnie Crouch led the Golden Eagles with 14 points, hitting 9 of 11 at the free throw line.

With Chowning scoring seven points, Clinton-Massie jumped out to a 17-6 first quarter lead. Cook had five points. Both Cook and Chowning had three-pointers.

The Falcons continued their push during the second quarter. Bellbrook managed to score 11 this quarter but struggled on the defensive end as the Falcons added 18, with Uetrecht scoring eight points.

The Golden Eagles were unable to make adjustments after the halftime break to change the course of the game. They were held to 8 points, in a gym energized by the Falcons Senior Night celebration. Demler had 4 points during the quarter.

The Falcons controlled the fourth quarter, though a surge from the Golden Eagles brought them within 12 at one point.

Crouch from the Golden Eagles managed to score 9 in the quarter but it wasn’t enough. Massie was 10 of 13 at the line in the fourth. Chowning, 5 of 6 at the line, had nine points.
