GEORGETOWN — A strong first half led the Blanchester girls soccer team to a 4-0 win over Georgetown Tuesday in a Southern Buckeye Conference National Division battle at GHS.

The Ladycats are 4-1-1 on the year with the victory.

Taylor McQuitty’s long-distance chip found its way past the Lady G-Men goalkeeper for the only goal the Ladycats would need.

But they weren’t done yet. Bekah Sams was open in the middle of the box and ripped one to the back of the net, BHS coach Kurt Ballinger said.

Audrey Jordan, with an assist from defender Mckenzie Miller, and Chloe Caplinger, with an assist to McQuitty, made it 4-0 before halftime.

While the Lady G-Men played better in the second half, Ballinger said, Blanchester was not to be denied. Regan Ostermeier made 10 saves to post the shutout.

Emily Hinkle and Jordan both had assists. Coach Ballinger said Merri Lindsey and Mckenzie Hamm both played well defensively.
