HILLSBORO — The East Clinton tennis team opened its season Wednesday with a South Central Ohio League defeat at the hands of Hillsboro 5-0.

The Astros (0-1) had close matches on several courts.

Elijah Howard lost a first-set tiebreaker en route to a 6-7, 4-6 loss to Spencer Brown at first singles.
