Hurricane hammers Hillsboro in SCOL tennis 5-0

HILLSBORO — The Wilmington High School tennis team opened South Central Ohio League play Thursday with a 5-0 win over host Hillsboro.

“Good win to open SCOL play,” WHS coach Steve Reed said.

Jonathan Fender bageled Spencer Brown at first singles, 6-0, 6-0.

“Jonathan rebounded from a rough loss and played almost perfect tennis.”

Wilmington is now 2-0 overall and 1-0 in league play.
