CINCINNATI — Blanchester’s 8-2 loss to McAuley Saturday in a non-league softball game came down to one simple aspect of the game.

“We had runners on in every inning but one,” BHS coach Jamey Grogg said. “We just couldn’t come up with the big hit when we needed it. It just seemed like when we did hit the ball hard, it was right at someone.

On the same note, seven of the eight runs that McAuley scored came with two outs.”

Blanchester drops to 2-3 on the year.

Maddie Curless had a pair of doubles while Jay Dalton homered.
