ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Taylor Florea pitched a no-hitter and Claire Carruthers drove in five runs as Clinton-Massie’s perfect season continued Friday with a 15-0 win over Washington in South Central Ohio League action.
Clinton-Massie, 12-0 overall and 8-0 in the SCOL, has scored 52 runs in its last three games. The Lady Falcons have outscored their opponents 145 to 24 this season.
“This was another stellar night of hitting by my girls,” CM coach Anthony Lauer said. “Hopefully we can continue to hit the ball like we can.”
Florea struck out 12 in five innings and hit a batter which prevented her from pitching a perfect game.
At the plate, Massie did not strike out.
“This was another game where we did not have one girl strikeout,” Lauer said. “We have a couple girls with injuries and hope to get them back soon but I am very pleased of how every girl has stepped up and contributed.”
Claire Carruthers had five runs batted in and Kelsey Carter hit a two-run homer in the fourth.
Clinton-Massie is going to Pigeon Forge, Tenn. to play six games — one each on Monday and Tuesday, and doubleheaders on Wednesday and Thursday, Lauer said.
