NEWARK — The Wilmington High School boys lacrosse team defeated Newark 7-5 Friday night.

JT Croghan tallied four goals for the Hurricane while Brice Cook, Craig Schiff and Patrick Black had one goal each. Cook also added an assist to the scoresheet.

Coach Adam Shultz said the Hurricane were put in a good position by midfielders Conner Mitchell and Sterling Harris who dominated face-offs in the match.

“I’m proud of the team effort that was displayed throughout the game,” Shultz said. “Some players really stepped up their game.”

Wilmington is now 1-4 on the year.
