HILLSBORO — Wilmington’s blistering offensive display continued Wednesday with an 11-1 win over Hillsboro in South Central Ohio League action at Shaffer Park.

“We continue to play a solid all-around game,” WHS coach Dustin James said. “We are hitting and fielding with the support of great pitching. Our team ERA is below 1.50 and we’ve scored 65 runs in the last five games. I’m very proud of our guys and how they have rebounded since the 1-0 six inning loss to Clinton-Massie.”

Wilmington is 8-3 overall and 7-1 in the league.

Zach Wyrick was the winning pitcher, hurling six innings of five-strikeout ball for the Hurricane. He walked two and hit two batters. Stephen Krause pitched one inning and struck out one.

“We played well tonight,” said James. “Wyrick threw a great game and our defense played solid behind him.”

Ryan Hottinger had two hits and scored a run. Alex Meyer had a hit but also reached on a walk and was hit by a pitch. He had one RBI. Krause had a hit, two walks and an RBI. Chris Wolary had a hit and knocked in two runs.
