WAYNESVILLE — The East Clinton Junior High School volleyball teams lost a pair of matches Monday to Waynesville.

The eighth grade was defeated 25-9, 25-19.

Emma Malone had a point and Myah Jones had two points. Camille Hughes had two points and played well at the net with a couple of kills, coach Doug Stehlin said.

The seventh grade was defeated 25-14, 18-25, 25-18.

Katrina Bowman had 10 points and seven aces, Marci Ellis had five points and one ace, Alexis Rolfe had five points, three aces and a dig, Jericka Boggs had three points, a block, a kill and a dig, Gracie Evanshine had a point, a kill and two digs, Holly Bernard had three points and an ace, Gracie Boggs had a kill and Lauren Hadley had four points and a kill.

EC coach Jaime Evanshine said the Lady Astros did a lot of good things, but had too many unforced errors to beat a strong team like Waynesville.
