CHILLICOTHE — State-ranked Clinton-Massie overpowered Chillicothe 12-0 Wednesday and remained unbeaten in South Central Ohio League softball action.
The Lady Falcons, No. 5 in Division II in this week’s state poll, is now 20-1 overall and 11-0 in the SCOL.
“Very happy with our performance tonight,” CM coach Anthony Lauer said. “We have a few girls battling some sickness but played our game and played it pretty well.”
Victoria Sivert hit a three-run homer in the fifth and also doubled. She finished with three hits, three runs batted in and three runs scored. Lindsey Carter also homered in the fifth, a two-run shot.
“Good game by our freshman,” Lauer said. “We have a lot of depth on this team and we have girls that are willing and able to step into many roles.”
Taylor Florea and Claire Carruthers combined on a 1-hitter. They struck out seven in fifth innings.
