ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Led by Madilyn Newton and Kendall Anderson, state-ranked Clinton-Massie bombarded McClain 16-4 Thursday in a South Central Ohio League softball game at CMHS.

Clinton-Massie, No. 5 in the latest Div. II poll, is 21-1 overall and 12-0 in the SCOL. The Lady Falcons will win the league title but the quest for a Gold Softball trophy for an unbeaten league record remains up for grabs.

Massie will play at Miami Trace Friday when Panther seniors are scheduled to be honored. East Clinton visits Clinton-Massie on Monday in the league finale.

Against McClain, Massie put 13 runs on the scoreboard in the first inning and never looked back.

Newton and Anderson had three hits each. Claire Carruthers went three innings to get the win. Lindsey Carter pitched the final two innings.
