New-look Hurricane defeats Astros on WHS courts 4-1

WILMINGTON — With several players still participating in the Southwest Tennis Coaches Association tournament, the Wilmington High School tennis team used several new players in the lineup and defeated East Clinton 4-1 Friday in South Central Ohio League play at the WHS courts.

Wilmington is 11-5 overall, 8-3 in the SCOL.

The closest match of the day came at first doubles where Wilmington’s Mason McIntosh and Brady Evans teamed for a 6-4, 6-3 win over Jaren Evans and Blake Bronson of East Clinton.

The Astro victory came at third singles where Levi Bambic posted a 6-1, 6-0 win over Nigel Banks of Wilmington.
