BLANCHESTER – Bethel-Tate scored two runs in the top of the ninth Tuesday and defeated Blanchester 7-6 in the completion of a suspended game from earlier in the season.
Blanchester is 12-8 overall and 9-1 in the Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division.
The game was tied at 5-5 when play resumed on Tuesday.
“To many free bases,” BHS head coach Aaron Lawson said. “No way this game should have even been close with 13 walks and 3 errors. Somehow we managed to take it to extras. You can’t give teams more than three outs an inning or free passes like we did. Good teams will cash those in every time. That was definitely the determining factor here.”
Jacksson Waialae had two hits and drove in a run for the Wildcats. Robert Rausch stole four bases.
