The Wilmington College baseball team committed six errors leading to six unearned runs and a 9-2 loss to Wittenberg Wednesday in non-conference action at Delaney-Tewksbury Field. The game was the final home game this season for WC.

Freshman Nick Silvis tallied Wilmington’s lone RBI with a one-out double in the third. WC threatened more damage with runners on first and third with one out, but a foul out and ground out thwarted the threat.

Junior Joshua Chua kept the game tied with a bases-loaded diving catch to end the fifth inning.

Sophomore Alec Robinette took the loss in relief, allowing two runs (one earned) in two innings of work on two hits. Robinette issued four walks with one strikeout.

Junior Jake Robinson recorded Wilmington’s only other extra base hit, a double. He also had one of WC’s two stolen bases. Sophomore Jake Hyatt had the other.

Wilmington (7-31 overall) travels to Heidelberg 1 p.m. Saturday for the regular season finale.
