LEES CREEK — Greeneview scored five runs in the top of the eighth inning Thursday and defeated East Clinton 7-4 in a non-league baseball game at ECHS.
The Astros led the game 2-0 going to the sixth inning. Justin Smith singled home Ethan Cornwell in the first then Tristen Burkitt scored on an error in the fourth.
In the Rams’ eighth, East Clinton pitching issued five walks — two coming with the bases loaded — and allowed a run score on a wild pitch.
The Astros didn’t go down quietly, though. In the bottom of the eighth, Burkitt singled and Colton Vadnais walked to start the rally. With Cameron Conner at the plate, Burkitt scored on a two-out wild pitch, 7-3. Vadnais made it 7-4 when he scored on a wild pitch. Conner then walked before the final out was recorded.
