LEES CREEK — East Clinton held off a late Greeneview rally Thursday and posted a 3-2 win in non-league softball action at the ECHS diamond.

“This was another solid defensive game and great preparation going into tournament play next week,” EC coach Matthew Zimmerman said. “Our pitcher is in a good rhythm and our defense is backing her up. We’re executing the details when they need to happen.”

Kaitlin Durbin drove in Tiffanni Bailey then Tori Bailey drove in Durbin to put East Clinton up 2-1 in the third inning. The Lady Astros added a run in the fifth for a 3-1 lead.

From there Sierra Christian closed out the win. The right-hander went seven innings, allowing six hits and just one walk. She struck out two.
