Wilmington’s Rodger O. Borror Middle School tennis team defeated Westerville 5-0 Friday afternoon.

“Not knowing anything about Westerville’s team, I was please how well all our players played,” ROB coach Cathy Fay said. “Again tennis scoring does not always indicate the actual play. The match was very close on three courts.”

Caleb Reed won a close battle at third singles while Parker Henry and Brenten Nielsen were winners at second doubles in a tough match.

The match of the day, though, came at first doubles where Claire Burns and Jenna Taylor won a third-set super tie-breaker 17-15.

The young Borror squad is 6-3 on the year.
