The Blanchester reserve girls soccer team tied Batavia 1-1 Thursday evening.

Coach Kurt Ballinger said the two teams were evenly matched and had a competitive, back and forth first half. Neither team scored in the first half.

Batavia scored first but Blanchester came right back to tie the match when keeper Reagan Ostermeier “energized” the squad with a sliding save.

Brianna Wilson scored from the edge of the box off a Sydney Scott assist, Ballinger said, as Blanchester tied the match at 1-1.

Savana Shank and Olivia Bundler played well defensively for the Ladycats, now 2-1-1 on the year.
