NEW RICHMOND — The Blanchester High School girls soccer team was defeated by New Richmond Thursday 8-0 in a non-league match on the NR turf.

The loss puts Blanchester at 4-2-1 and stops the team’s three-game winning streak.

New Richmond scored early and then again late in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into the break, but then tallied six goals in the second half to run away with the victory.

Regan Ostermeier, the BHS goalkeeper, had 25 saves. Emma Gundler, Chloe Caplinger and Emily Hinkle played “tough” for the Ladycats, coach Kurt Ballinger said.
