Richardson 2nd in SBCN

GOSHEN — Blanchester’s Alec Richardson finished as runnerup in the Southern Buckeye Conference National Division boys golf standings this season.

Mitchell McElfresh of Bethel-Tate was the National Division medalist for the season and the tournament.

But Richardson was the clear No. 2 golfer. He had a 245 season total over four nine-hold divisional rounds and the 18-hole tournament round. He shot 84 (45-39) in the tournament at Deer Track Golf Course.

As a team, Blanchester finished in fourth place in the league overall but was second in the tournament, edging Georgetown 389 to 390 for the spot behind winner Bethel-Tate.

Blanchester’s Connor Cook had a 99 (50-49) in the tournament while Jordan Ellis had a 106 (49-57). Wesley Mitchell shot 108 (55-53). Clayton Guy had a 110 (59-51) and Lane Heeg shot a 134 (59-75).

Cook and Mitchell both earned second team All-SBC honors.
