Alkermes wins Harvest of Gold golf tournament

The Alkermes, Inc. Team No. 1 had a score of 52 and won the Harvest of Gold golf tournament recently at the Elks 797 Golf Club.

The winning team was made up of Don Elkins, Joe Cordy, Mark Thompson and Bradlee West.

The runnerup team, Three Retirees Plus One, posted a 58 and consisted of Fred Ertel, Bob Ginter, Mike Kees and Eric Noble.

The rest of the field:

• 61 Ferno: Abe Arnold, Marvin Frisco, Ian Bravo, Dean Myers.

• 64 Home Boys: Lawrence Curtis, Lee Curtis, Alan Cowin, Jerry Cowin.

• 64 Alkermes No. 2: David Ison, Bronson Milinazzo, Don Merriman, Jacob Macik.

• 64 Fryman Family: Jeff Fryman, June Fryman, Heather Fryman.

• 70 CMH Regional: Earla Combs, Mandie Powell, Kris Haash, Brian Sweetman.

• 72 First Christian Church: Dean Waddell, Liz Waddell, Marvin Bond, Junia Bond.

Hole event winners were Mandie Powell (closest to the pin), Bob Ginter (longest putt made), Mike Kees (longest drive). The raffle winners were Ginter, Alan Cowin and Jeff Fryman.

Sponsoring the tournament with other donations were Mary Kay Vance, Yvonne Williams, A.M.E.S., Deer Brook Properties, Fox Towing & Trucking, Marvin Bond, Kelsey Swindler, Eric Guindon and Tim Rudduck.

Bill Marine Ford provided a car for the hole-in-one event, Kerry Steed of Generations Pizzeria grilled food for the event and the Wilmington News Journal supported the event through advertisements.
