Wounded Warrior golf outing July 23 at Locust Hills GC

The Wounded Warrior golf outing will be held July 23 at Locust Hills Golf Club, just south of Springfield.

Members of the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) will be present at the golf outing. The softball team will play softball games in October to help raise money for the new Fisher House Project at the Dayton VA Medical Center and Honor Flight-Dayton.

The golf tournament will raise money to help WWAST with player travel, lodging and meals. WWAST hosts for their appearance include the Greater Dayton area softball community, the Dayton Legends Softball Club, Dayton-Montgomery Co CVB, Greater Dayton RTA, and numerous local veteran-friendly businesses.

Driving in from his home in Lexington, Ky. specifically to support this event is one of the WWAST players, Jon Herst. Jon lost a limb in service to his country and has a compelling story about how the WWAST travels the country in support of their Mission Statement to young amputees: Life Without Limbs is Limitless.

Cost to play in the four-person scramble golf tournament is $75 per person, which includes coffee and doughnuts, greens fees and cart, drinks on the course, lunch, prizes and a donation to the WWAST hosting fund.
