Gilmore claims Majestic Springs club championship

Phil Gilmore defeated Keith Mineer Sunday to win the 2017 Majestic Springs Golf Course club championship.

Gilmore, the Wilmington High School boys golf coach, defeated Mineer, a senior on the Clinton-Massie boys golf team, by three strokes in the championship match.

The title is Gilmore’s second club championship at Majestic Springs.

In the Majestic Springs first flight championship, Joe Miner won a three-way tie to claim the title. Miner, John Stern and Josh Johns were tied at 78. Stern finished as runnerup with Johns third.

In the senior club championship, Dan Cutter posted a 79 to defeat Bill Glaspey who shot an 81.

In the second flight, Ron Cordy won the title over the field.
