EC boys win Elks Run divisional, up SBAAC lead

BATAVIA — East Clinton increased its lead in the Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division boys golf standings Monday afternoon.

Playing the seven-team divisional at Elks Run Golf Course in Batavia, the Astros had a 183 team total while runnerup Georgetown had a 186. East Clinton leads Georgetown by 17 strokes after two nine-hole divisionals.

Blanchester had a 243 team total and is seventh in the league standings.

Individually, Jacob Olds led the Astros on Monday with a 5-over par 40. Gage McConahay came in with a 42.

Blanchester’s top scorer was the pair of Ashlin Benne and Brian Miller, both of whom shot 60s for the Wildcats.

Lance Sininger of Georgetown was the overall medalist with an even par 35. In the overall individual standings, Sininger has 70 after two rounds while Olds has 85 and McConahay has 86.

The next divisional will be held Tuesday at Snow Hill Country Club. The teams will begin play at 4 p.m.
