Astros post another solid outing, top Blue Lions

GREEN TOWNSHIP — Led by Gage McConahay, the East Clinton boys golf team defeated former South Central Ohio League rival Washington Senior 172 to 207 Wednesday at Snow Hill Country Club in a non-league match.

EC coach Mike Deters said, “The kids played well tonight. That’s two days in a row with solid play.”

McConahay posted a 5-over par 40 to earn medalist honors. Deters said McConahay posted pars on the final five holes on the front nine.

The Astros will host West Union and North Adams on Thursday at Snow Hill Country Club.

Jacob Olds followed with a 42 for EC and Brendon Walters carded a 43. Shane Streber had a 47 and Logan Kelly came in with a 49. Nathan Stewart shot 65.

For the Blue Lions, Gabe Arazo shot a 48 and Tyler Rood had a 51. Brock Morris came in with a 53 and Ty Rose had a 55. Brice Cartwright had a 57.
