I love that this is a young team. They are very driven and hard-working. They want to make a change to their name and they are very motivated to makes some changes to Goshen women’s soccer. I am a new coach that just moved from Charleston, W.Va. I have two prior years of high school coaching experience. I am coming into Goshen not knowing the town, the school, and the girls. But I am very happy about that. I am creating my own team from scratch. I am helping them increase their confidence, on and off the field. I want to help make this team grow and shape them into a winning team. I have many years of playing experience including travel, high school and college. I was an All-American, West Virginia State Player of the Year, Gatorade Player of the Year, and first team all-state all four years in high school. I graduated from Alderson-Broaddus University earning first team all-conference, first team-all region and second team-All-Atlantic all four years of playing. I have the knowledge and experience and I am very excited to share all I know with these girls. They are a great group and excited to learn new things. We have forgotten last year’s season and we are starting with a fresh mind frame and hard work ethic. I think you will see a different Goshen team this year.

The overall experience on the team is a great asset to have. This experience, combined with a solid freshman class, should make this a pretty fun season. There are a few holes to fill from last year, but I think we have the right people coming in or already here that can step right without missing a beat. Many of our returning starters are underclassmen, so their learning curve is still pretty large. I look for the girls to continue working hard to become a better overall team and hope to gel sooner than later.

The team has had two consecutive winning seasons. We have a good mix of upper and lower classmen. The leadership and commitment from the seniors throughout the summer conditioning and weight room sessions, team bonding events, summer tournaments has been outstanding. This is one of the hardest working teams I have coached. Now if we can just get and stay healthy, I think we’ll have a really good season.
