ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO SAY ABOUT TEAM, SEASON

We are a young team but the skill level is improved over last year. We were a decent team last year, for a half but we only had 11 players and we ran out of gas in the second half. We are hoping to improve our numbers this year and be competitive for the whole 80 minutes.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO SAY ABOUT TEAM, SEASON

The program has posted four straight winning seasons. We will open the season playing our first Friday Night Fútbol game on Aug. 18 against Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. We hope to have an amazing crowd as the cheerleaders and marching band will be a part of the game as well. On Aug. 26, both the Batavia boys and girls soccer teams will play in Mapfre Stadium, home of the Columbus Crew, against Van Buren High School and afterwards attend the Columbus Crew game versus Dallas FC that evening. It’ll be a marquee moment for the team to play in such a big stadium against a challenging opponent from northern Ohio. We will be hosting our 5th Kick for the Cure game in October. We once again will partner with the Business Professionals of America class from the high school in creating a raffle to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO SAY ABOUT TEAM, SEASON

Our goal is to win league. We feel we have the players and the talent to do so. The core players of our team are now upperclassmen. It’s up to the players to put it out on the field. This is probably our toughest schedule yet. We are a Div. III school in size. We play two Div. I teams and have five games against Div. II schools. We are looking forward to the season and hope to improve every time we take the field.
