G-Men gun down Lady Hurricane volleyball

GEORGETOWN — The Wilmington High School volleyball team was unable to sustain a first set win Wednesday and dropped its non-league match to Georgetown 25-23, 19-25, 10-25, 23-25.

Coach Jordan Watson called the defeat “a tough loss” but said her team “really hustled and stepped up to the plate.”

Courtney Smart had 48 set assists while Aaliyah Huff added 25. Alix Smith had 51 successful passes.

Harlie Bickett and Riley Flint both hit 90 percent of their serves. Nyla Bailey posted 10 kills on the stats sheet while Madi Flint had five kills.
