Record-setter Heys leads county runners in boys Finishtiming.com race

WILMINGTON — Simon Heys broke his own Wilmington High School cross country record Saturday at the Finishtiming.com XC Invitational varsity boys race at Wilmington College.

Heys clocked a 16:34.9, eclipsing his own mark by seven seconds, WHS coach Eileen Grosse said.

As a team, Wilmington was 11th overall. Blanchester finished 15th, Clinton-Massie was 21st and East Clinton was 24th.

Individually after Heys, Hunter Browning was Blanchester’s top runner, placing 56th in 17:41.4. Jacob Whitaker of Clinton-Massie was 82nd in 18:11 and Aiden Henson of East Clinton was 87th in 18:16.3.
