Blanchester JV football blasts Blue Lions 44-7

BLANCHESTER — With a dominating offensive performance, the Blanchester High School reserve football team defeated Washington 44-7 Saturday at Barbour Memorial Field.

The Wildcats defense was equally impressive, allowing a lone touchdown in the third quarter. Brady Phillips had a sack, forced fumble and returned that fumble for a 30-yard touchdown, coach Brian Damewood reported.

Brody Rice, Gabe Peters and Colt Conover all had interceptions for the ’Cats.

On offense, Blake Richard had two touchdown runs while Conover and Derick Bowman had one rushing TD each. Rice had a touchdown pass to Carter Abbott from 20 yards out.

Bowman, Peters and Bryce Scalf all had two-point conversion runs while Rice converted two of three extra point attempts.
