WILMINGTON — The Wilmington High School tennis team defeated former South Central Ohio League rival Miami Trace 4-1 Wednesday in a non-league match on the WHS courts.

“This was a really good outing for us on all courts,” WHS head coach Doug Cooper said.

The Lady Hurricane is 3-5 on the year.

The match of the day came at second singles where Sophie Reed rallied for a 4-6, 6-1, 10-3 win.

“Sophie got off to a slow start but really poured it on when she found her groove late in the first set,” Cooper said.
