Lady Falcons clobber Lady Indians 5-0

ADAMS TOWNSHIP — The Clinton-Massie girls tennis team blanked Hillsboro 5-0 Wednesday in a non-league match on the CMHS courts.

Coach Lynn Deatherage said sophomores Nina Lazic and Raelee Schulz “stepped up their games” to help the Lady Falcons posted the shutout win.

Lazic played her first match at second singles and won 5-7, 7-5, 10-8. Schulz was a 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 winner at third singles. Both matches lasted more than two hours, Deatherage said.

Anne Thompson, playing first singles again in the absence of Hailey Clayborn, is now 10-1 on the year. The doubles team of Claire Carruthers and Hailey Stinchcomb are 9-2 on the year.
