Lady Lions hand Lady Falcons first loss of year

NEW RICHMOND – The Clinton-Massie volleyball team lost for the first time this season on Tuesday to New Richmond 16-25, 22-25, 21-25 in Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference American Division action.

The Lady Falcons are 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the American Division. The Lady Lions are 5-3 overall, 2-0 in the American.

CM coach Stephanie Reveal said New Richmond serves “a really aggressive top spin ball that we just couldn’t seem to receive. On top of that the Lady Lions had a powerful front row, Reveal said, and her squad hasn’t “seen anything like that yet this season.”

Tyler Greathouse had six kills, eight digs, a block and three points. Cadin Reveal had eight kills, two digs and six points. Taylor Florea contributed three kills, a dig, nine points and four aces. Rylee Richardson recorded three kills, two blocks and two points.

Hailey Conley had an ace and four assists before leaving the match, Reveal said.

“Midway through set one we lost Conley, who is our setter,” Reveal said. Richardson finished the opener as setter than freshman Kennedy Thompson went the rest of the match as the setter, Reveal said.

Thompson had four points, three aces and 16 assists. Faith Cottrell finished with two kills, two points and an ace. Kristen Hillman had three digs while Maddie Enright chipped in with two points and two digs. Ashlie Miller had three digs, two points and an ace.
