BETHEL – In the final of a five-match season-opening road trip, the Blanchester boys soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision Tuesday to Bethel-Tate in Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division action.
The loss puts Blanchester at 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the National. The Tigers are 5-1 overall and in first in the division with a 5-0 mark.
The Wildcats trailed 2-0 at halftime.
Coach Troy Ballinger said Jake Fischer, the BHS goalkeeper, had 19 saves, including one off a penalty kick.
Blanchester will play its first home match Thursday against Clinton-Massie with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
