EC coach encouraged despite loss to ‘Burg

WILLIAMSBURG – The East Clinton volleyball team dropped a Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division match Tuesday to Williamsburg 18-25, 10-25, 13-25.

“Despite the score, the girls played their hearts out,” EC coach Sarah Sodini said. “A lot of things came together that we’ve been working on all season. Williamsburg is a great team. We let ourselves get too far down to catch back up, but I am excited about the heart the girls played with.”

East Clinton is now 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the National Division. Trailing only Clermont Northeastern, Williamsburg is 6-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.

Emma Malone had four digs and Lacey Peterman had two kills and a dig. Kait Durbin posted three kills, five blocks and a dig. Paige Lilly had nine kills and 20 digs.

Myah Jones chipped in with two kills, four assists and four digs. Victoria Jamison contributed three kills and two blocks. Kenzie Campbell had five kills and 12 digs. Logan Peterman handed out 15 assists and came up with a dig.
