BLANCHESTER – The Blanchester tennis team defeated Batavia 3-2 Wednesday in a non-conference match on the BHS courts.
The win puts the Ladycats at 5-3 on the year.
“This was a good opportunity to get some girls in the lineup that have worked hard to make both themselves and their team better,” BHS coach Matt Sexton said. “I’m proud of the efforts of Terra (Wichterman), Lexie (Winemiller) and Taylor (Bradley).”
Sexton said Erin Wilson was very “businesslike” in her 6-0, 6-2 win at first singles.
“I think the match against Madeira really helped her,” said Sexton.
Kayla Allen picked up her first singles win on Wednesday; she normally plays doubles with Grace King.
Sexton said the Korie White, Alexis Vestal pairing “played a very smart, comprehensive match.”
