Heys leads WHS runners at Tiffin CC Carnival

TIFFIN – Simon Heys led Wilmington Saturday at the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival at Hedges Boyer Park.

Heys finished fifth out of 242 runners, clocking a 16:50.4.

On the girls side, Tristin Vail posted a season’s best time of 22:01.6 and finished 58th.

“We continue to improve,” WHS coach Eileen Grosse said.

Ryland Bowman was the top reserve runner for WHS in the open boys race, finishing 114th in 19:45.5.

In the team standings, Wilmington’s boys were 17th in the varsity race while the girls were 25th. The Hurricane finished 24th in the open boys race.
