Ladycats shake off slow start, beat Georgetown

BLANCHESTER – Despite a slow start, Blanchester rallied to defeat Georgetown 25-22, 25-17, 25-14 Tuesday in Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division volleyball action at the BHS gym.

The win puts Blanchester at 5-5 overall and 4-3 in the league. Georgetown drops to 1-14 overall and 0-8 in league play, according to the SBAAC website.

“The girls started off slow and sluggish, but they quickly picked up the pace and fought back to pull off the win,” BHS coach Jenna Weisflock said.

Shelbie Rose had six digs, five perfect passes, 18 points, 17 assists and a kill. Asia Baldwin had two digs, 11 perfect passes, six points, 12 kills and three blocks. Cheyenne Brown finished with a kill.

Casey Kingsland contributed three digs, three perfect passes, 13 points with five aces, two assists, a kill and a block. Ally Davis had a dig, six perfect passes, eight points, four aces, two assists and four kills.

Morgan Oberle finished with nine perfect passes, eight points, four aces, eight kills and three blocks. Audrey Heitzman recorded one perfect pass, six points, two aces, two assists and a kill. Kassidy Abney had a dig, four perfect passes and a point.
