Batavia bumps Wilmington in 3

The Wilmington High School volleyball team lost in three sets Thursday to Batavia in SBAAC American Division action at Fred Summers Court.

The loss puts Wilmington at 0-10 overall and 0-5 in the American Division. Batavia is 1-4 in the division and 5-7 overall.

“It was a very tough loss for the girls,” WHS head coach Jordan Watson said. “The played excellent tonight. This is the Lady Hurricane volleyball team I know they can be.”

Madi Flint led the Lady Hurricane with five kills and seven points. Harlie Bickett led the way with 54 passes. Sam Achtermann had four kills and 10 points.

Sydney Wright had 15 points while Riley Flint contributed four points and a block. Alix South had six passes while Chailyn Johns finished with 55 assists and a block, according to Watson.
