Lady Astros notch 7th straight win over CNE

OWENSVILLE – The beat goes on for the East Clinton High School volleyball team.

The Lady Astros avenged an early-season loss to Clermont Northeastern by defeating the Lady Rockets 25-19, 25-14, 25-19 Monday in a SBAAC National Division match.

The win puts EC at 9-4 overall and 5-2 in the league. The Lady Rockets are 9-6 overall and 5-2 in the league.

“This was a great team effort,” EC coach Sarah Sodini said. “All 11 of my girls came mentally prepared to play. Kaitlyn Talbott stepped up and served well when we needed her.”

Talbott had one service ace while Kayla Hall had a kill. Sierra Christian had a kill and an assist. Emma Malone finished with three aces and 11 digs. Kait Durbin contributed eight kills, three blocks and nine digs.

Paige Lilly had three aces, nine kills and eight digs. Myah Jones chipped in with four kills, seven assists, two blocks and a dig. Victoria Jamison had five kills and three blocks at the net. Kenzie Campbell recorded three kills, a block and 15 digs. Logan Peterman had two aces, two kills, five digs and 15 assists.
