Hurricane rolls to 6-0 win over Falcons

WILMINGTON – After a slow start, Wilmington came on strong and defeated Clinton-Massie 6-0 Tuesday in SBAAC American Division boys soccer action at Alumni Field.

The Hurricane is 4-0-1 in its last five matches, following a 3-3 start to the season. WHS is 5-1 in the American Division, trailing only Western Brown who is 5-0.

Clinton-Massie drops to 1-10 on the season.

Sam Spirk had four goals for Wilmington.

“I thought we looked good even with the heat being so high,” WHS head coach Imad El-Macharaffie said. “We struggled early developing our play but eventually got in to a good rhythm which allowed us to find the back of the net.”

Charley Schumacher and Brady Vilvens also scored goals for Wilmington. Spirk, Eli Hicks, Nate Lakes and Seth Gundlach had assists for Wilmington.
