WHS, CM both claim doubles title in SBAAC tournament

WILMINGTON – As it has all season long, Goshen continues to be the class of the SBAAC American Division girls tennis standings.

The Lady Warriors won the division tournament Thursday at Wilmington High School and remains unbeaten in league play this season. Goshen has one league match remaining on its schedule in order to finish as the undefeated champion.

Wilmington and Clinton-Massie, as they have done all season, continue to battle it out for second place in the league. Both schools won a bracket championship on the doubles courts and both had a runnerup, also on the doubles courts.

Emma Schroeder and Brooklyn Nielsen claimed a tournament title for the Lady Hurricane at first doubles, defeating their county rivals Claire Carruthers and Hailey Stinchcomb of Massie 6-2, 6-4 in the first doubles finals.

Megan Wonderly and Hailey Clayborn gave the Lady Falcons a title by defeated Kristina Walt and Zane Bekheet at second doubles 6-1, 6-2.
