GOSHEN – Scoring twice within the first 10 minutes of the match, Goshen went on to defeat Blanchester 4-2 Thursday in a non-league girls soccer match at Jim Brown Stadium.

The loss leaves Blanchester with a 4-6-2 record. Goshen improves to 3-8 with the win.

After falling behind, the Ladycats played better (7 corner kicks) but were unable to score and trailed 2-0 at halftime.

Goshen again started fast after the break and made it 3-0 within a minute, BHS coach Kurt Ballinger said.

Sierra Drake scored two goals for Blanchester in the second half. The first goal for Drake came off a header, assisted by Emily Hinkle’s corner kick.

Regan Ostermeier had seven saves in goal for the Ladycats. Ballinger said Savanna Shank played well defensively in front of Ostermeier.
